Misaktsieli Small Hydropower Plant Rehabilitation Project

Misaktsieli SHP was originally built in1964. Ento Ltd. owns and operates the Misaktsieli Small Hydropower Plant. The SHP receives its water from the Lami-Misaktsieli main irrigation canal.  The diversion weir and headworks are located next to the village of Bulachauri on the Aragvi River. The power house is connected to the irrigation canal by a 70 m long penstock connect. The vertical drop, or head between the irrigation canal and the power plant is 52 m. The rehabilitation project will increase the generation capacity by 1,900 kW to 2,600 kW.  The generated energy is being sold to Energo-Pro, Georgian Electrokavshiri (the local land line telephone company) and newly established brewery Natakhtar.
